Jim Stone shares with us over 300 enlightened writings in Oure thots become oure lives; his ideas for a successful life. The author learned his life lessons from nature, not formal education, and writes with an informal and readable style. He interprets the intricate patterns of life with his soul and reveals that translation into mere words is challenging.

He has addressed some thoughts to his son, whom he hopes will grow up to be better than himself, and some reflect friendship and teamwork in activities like fishing and sports, in the form of coaching, mentoring, encouraging, and inspiring. Others are philosophical or suggest a desire to help one's fellow beings, and Jim Stone reveals his deep and abiding love for dogs. One of the early thoughts, which many dog owners will appreciate, is a memory of the author's dogs, Timber, who had just died, and Bozwood and Trouper, who died nine years and five years earlier. All three dogs are together in the same place, and Jim Stone feels that death sets them free, and he hopes to join them one day.

Some of the messages are dated, beginning from 2009 to 2018. Jim labels many of them, "Just a thought," and still others "Sometimes." I detected no specific order for them; they seem essentially random. Some of my favorite epistles are Soul, Every Moment Counts, Home Never Changes, Straight Up, and Words. You could dip into this book frequently and repeatedly find something relevant to life. I believe many of us have considered putting down some thoughts on paper for posterity; if so, let this be your opportunity to begin, nudged on by the author's shining example.

The first of many things that I love about this book is the title. You have to read it more than once to decipher the meaning, and I like that kind of puzzle. I also find the artwork for the cover very appealing. The book's photographs introduce a polished dimension making it feel personal. They coordinate with the layout, which leaves a blank page when the thought is short, making for a relaxed and enjoyable reading experience. I detected a few misspelled words and believe the book would benefit from a round of editing for grammar and punctuation.

I rate Oure thots become oure lives 3 out of 4 stars for its integrity and simple words that reveal the heart of Jim Stone. There is nothing in the content or presentation that I do not like, but I do not believe it to be professionally edited. I recommend another round of editing for grammar and punctuation, after which I would happily rate it 4 out of 4 stars.

I recommend the book to a broad audience of people who would enjoy the solace and comfort of having a repository of "Thots" available. It is suitable for Y/A. The book also makes a delightful gift.

Awesome Inspiration book for any age that can be read a little each day. Even my 10 year old grandson read it cover to cover, and was touched by Jims heartfelt emotions that he conveys throughout the book.

I am excited to reveal what is inside the book “Oure Thots Become Oure Life’s by Jim Stones. I as a child learned how to use many things from nature and create beautiful things. There is so much nature can teach. Team work leads people to a better way of life. The title brought me to thinking about William Shakespeare and how your brought to have to think about what is said for many. I love this kind of writing and can usually figure out quick what the words are saying.
