Review of Finding Her Being Her
It's always awe-inspiring to come across books that pay tribute to the lives of women, particularly when they skillfully convey the essence of a woman's journey. Finding Her Being Her by Nilam Patel is a remarkable collection of short poems that precisely accomplishes this feat. The book is thoughtfully divided into three distinct segments, each with its own focus. The first segment, "Finding Her," delves into the societal pressures imposed on women. It elucidates the expectations of building homes, serving others, and caring for the family, often at the expense of their own emotional well-being. It also encompasses poignant poems that touch on grief. In the second segment, "Being Her," the author explores the profound realm of motherhood. She examines the precious gift it bestows, the idealized image of mothers as perfectionists, and how daughters truly grasp their mothers' experiences only when they assume the same role. The third segment, "Loving Her," delves deeply into self-love and self-appreciation. It invites readers to relish the exquisite verses that celebrate womanhood.
Personally, I thoroughly relished this novel, finding it to be a beautiful masterpiece that eloquently captures the essence of womanhood. Many of the poems resonated deeply with me, prompting me to highlight numerous passages. Nilam Patel demonstrates remarkable skill as a writer, effortlessly conveying emotions and experiences. With just 139 pages (epub version), the book is compact yet impactful, making it an ideal choice for a leisurely reading session. Moreover, the inclusion of illustrations throughout adds an extra layer of visual delight, enhancing the overall reading experience. The author's emphasis on the importance of women nurturing themselves alongside their caring nature towards others resonated profoundly with me. She reminds every woman to prioritize self-care and devote attention to themselves, just as they would to others.
One invaluable message I gleaned from the book is the significance of acknowledging red flags in relationships. These warning signs are invariably present, vibrant, and impossible to ignore. The author's wise counsel urges readers to remain vigilant and take note of these indicators. Given that I found it challenging to choose favorites among the myriad poems, having highlighted a considerable portion of the book, it stands as a testament to the author's consistently compelling writing. Another significant takeaway from Finding Her Being Her is the importance of self-discovery before seeking validation elsewhere. Motherhood is an enigmatic journey, its contours known only to those who traverse it. Each person strives to navigate this path to the best of their abilities, seeking growth for themselves and their children. I hope that young adults who encounter this book will realize the fallibility of their mothers, understanding that they too are human beings capable of making mistakes.
I find no faults in this novel, as it boasts exceptional editing. It is with great pleasure that I bestow upon it a well-deserved rating of 5 out of 5 stars. My sincere hope is that every woman gazes into the mirror and recognizes her intrinsic beauty, even in the face of challenges, societal judgment, and criticism. I urge all readers to embrace self-love fervently, knowing that their brightest days of success, happiness, and love are yet to come.
I wholeheartedly recommend Finding Her Being Her to poetry enthusiasts as well as to females of all ages who seek solace and inspiration within the realm of verse.
