I am interested in the poems about God and how we respond to circumstances. I must commend the author for a job well done as shown in your amazing review. Thanks for the recommendation.

If at all their is anything that will lure me into reading this book, am sure that it would be the part that talks about domestic violence. Then maybe check on some few poems...

It seems like a deep but fun collection of poetry, and the author is really witty. I'd like to read it but most poetry flies right past me. I think it'd be an interesting read, to be honest, even with profanity being part of how the author expresses themselves.

The themes of racism, identity and slavery are replete and very palpable in the poems, and I'm glad this review clearly points that out. The first three poems sampled here are basically centered on these issues. The fact that race (Black and White), is something that was socially constructed is logically explained by the poet. And the root of all the inequalities, supremacy and humiliation that exist between black and white is slavery. But the poet knows his identity, and worth and he boldly asserts this. I like the poets use of enjambment to allow his ideas flow easily, and the use of imagery , exaggeration and allusions which makes the poems beautiful.
I'm also glad the reviewer clearly explained the title of the poem, which may be a little difficult to understand for readers who has no prio understanding of the context of the poem.
I would love to read through the remaining part of this collection.

I love poetry and don't often come across modern poets that I really enjoy. This looks like it will be a real treat, especially the second section. Thanks for a great review!

I don’t enjoy reading poetry but I might give this a try because the author was able to touch serious issues without making it too overwhelming . Thanks for the review.

The author definitely covered some topics among his poetry. I know I am excited to read more of it. The review does a good job of breaking down the various topics the author has written. It gave a good overall view of what to expect while reading.

I appreciate authors/writers like Persaud to use their platform to talk about and give awareness to sensitive issues and topics. However, writers gotta be careful if topics like AIDS is mentioned so they don't spread misinformation and add to the stigma experienced by people who have/had it.

I once wrote a template book of short diverse poems, it was an awesome experience...in this book I felt Iike it can persuade me to do another template on a professional level as this book is interestingly a good read and so engaging too. The Sh*tolian is not your everyday title because it is unexpected but nonetheless, his name persuaded me to read till the last page😁

The book Sh***tolian by O Persaud , is a book that is about a person who had experienced racism in their life. The book talks about different struggles and segregation such as drinking water from a blacks only water fountain. This book is a book I think is for a mature reader.

Not really a fan of poetry. I find them hard to understand. Thanks for the review, though.
