I love poetry and read a lot of it. Just in the past 2-3 years, efforts to increase diversity in poetry journals has led to some very adventurous uses of language. The two poems you quoted looked fine to me, positively conservative. :D

You make a lot of really interesting points about the potential struggles between separate races connecting through poetic language of this variety. The raw and vulnerable emotions are likely capable of transcending most of the disconnect, but I’d likely have the exact same hurdles to overcome if reading this particular title. Thank you for the honest insight!

This book seems like a perfect example for why I don't review works of poetry. Errors or poetic license? Bothers me either way!

Thank you for the the detailed review. There does seem to be a message, and it is sad that there is still prejudice. The message seems powerful, or is it inflammatory? I might skip this one!

The poetry book is always difficult for me to understand. It's great that you picked the book. Although there are many errors, the emotions seem to be strong. Thanks for reviewing!

"The poetry has power to it, but I honestly cannot recommend this book to anyone other than an experienced poetry editor..." I just can't. Lol. Interesting review. Thanks for sharing...

I love poetry but then a plenty of typos and grammatical errors immediately put me off. This is an awesome book that will definitely do well with another round of editing.
Thank you for your honest review!

I love poetry and enjoyed reading it, this book is more suitable for those who are poets and poets who are not alien in the field.

@Kanda_theGreat - I agree. The book is important and powerful. But one more round of editing would help a lot.

@Saraion - I am glad you enjoyed the book.
