Poetry, as well as prose, can be used to express one's identity and experiences, and the author of this book has beautifully done this.

Sweet collection of poetry and compacted with variety . I like collections and I'm going to read this one ,being forced to experience adulthood while young is terrible, but I guess it is what it is. Great book, superb review

I am very picky when it comes to poetry, but this book seems nice enough to give it a try. Great review,

The title was a little misleading. I was thinking that there would be more adult things that were going to get me to identify with this writer. However, I did enjoy the book because of ideas that were presented. Right off the bat, I was pulled in with the line about not having met the person to tell them the things that unravel the author. There have been so many times that I have walked through a conversation in my head to be prepared for a particular situation. The author uses very vivid words to describe different scenarios and this made it real and believable. If you are interested in reading something a little different, this is the book for you.

Adulting by Lindah Mogeni seems a female-centric book. I like poems having rhythm. Thank you for the free copy.

This book of prose and poetry comes to us at a time when voices such as these speak clearly to the next generations about what life is like growing up in Kenya, living in London or NY, and still identifying as a woman of color no matter the address change. Her clear voice and rich wording weaves stories and experiences that the reader may relate to as a person, black or not, female or male, privilaged or lowly. This is an A+ read every senior or college freshman should read.

I like the book because it brings the author\s childhood experiences quite well. The thought of a child enduring sexual molestation and depression are some messages I get from the book. Thanks for the wonderful review.

Thanks for the great review and helping me to understand the book better! I use to write a lot of poetry in highschool as a way to cope with my depression, severe trauma, sexual abuse, PTSD, etc. So I think I'll be able to relate with this book some on those levels and can't wait to read it!

Extremely well-written review! I've always been wanting to explore the poetry genre, but never got a good book to start with. But this book sounds like my type of book. I'll definitely have to bookmark it for future reading.
Thanks and congratulations on BOTD!!
