I don’t really read poems and I don’t enjoy profanity either, so I don’t think this book is a good fit for me. Still, I like all the creative themes the author discusses.

Sadly, my English is not good enough to read and adequately understand poetry. This is the reason I prefer to skip this one, but would like to offer my congratulations with BOTD!

I had know idea the title meant someone from an undesirable past; I thought it was definitely a controversial title, though. Poetry about self-identity sounds intriguing. Thanks for the detailed review.

I don't read nearly enough poetry. This one sounds heavy-handed and one must be u the mood for it. An emotional reaction from a reader is the best compliment one can give to a poetry collection.
Great with the review.

Poetry takes away a part of the soul; always. The course of identity in this book is unique and I would like to read something like that. I like that the last line of every poem is profound and summing up. Thanks for the review. :tiphat:

Very insightful. I read the book earlier and I didn't even come close to seeing it the way you've portrayed it in your review. Thank you for that and cogratulations on BOTD.

The book is a collection of beautiful poetry with a bold tone of self-examination and identity. It is writen from the perspective of someone who has had to scrabble for livelihood and respect.
The review is superb.
Congratulations on Botd 🎉

Sh**olian is a beautiful collection of poems. Many topics like slavery, AIDS, domestic violence, and blood diamonds, racial divides, are dealt in this work. Usually, I am not into poetry, so I don't think I would enjoy reading this book. I hope for those who loves poems more than stories are definitely going to enjoy the read. Nice review.
Congrats on BOTD.

Under the main theme of identity, this collection of poems seems to include a wide variety of topics, from racial inequality and God to insects and animals. I'll definitely enjoy the sarcastic part too. Thanks for a great review!
