Use this section to discuss drama books and poetry books. Drama includes plays but not novels. This includes work by Shakespeare, Marlowe, Miller etc. Poetry anthologies can also go here.

Thank you for the insightful and detailed review. I don't relate to poetry that much but I know the perfect person to recommend this book to.

Unfortunately my appreciation of poetry is limited, especially in a language different from my primary one. I'm sure there are a lot of people who can do better than me. Thank you for your great review!

I definitely agree that, based off the title and cover, my perception of what this book would be about was vastly different than the way you described it. Nevertheless, it sounds like it's worth a deeper look!

I agree that the tittle was a bit misleading. According to my opinion I think the title should be african women empowerment. According to the review the collection of poems is about the auther journey as an african from kenya, the trip tocuba and finally in newyork.

YES YES YES!! I love everything about this book, its like it was made for me! A Kenyan woman writing poems about adulting is food for my 19 year old soul. I'm glad I was able to grab a free copy for book of the day. :D
Do you ever feel like you spend too much time reading? Yeah. Me neither.

Even though the title of the book does not match better with the content as I gather from the review, I like the fact that it tackled these five sections: sections: longing, learning, womanhood, identity, and character. I might consider reading it in future. Good review

I love reading and writing poems too. I like the poets style w/c was free verse. And the book cover was attractive.

Thanks for the insightful review! Frankly, I think I'll pass on this book for now - it sounds too morose and graphic for me.

I'm not really a fan of poetry. In that case, I won't read Adulting by Lindah Mogeni but I will recommend it since it looks like an interesting book book. Congratulations to the author on the BOTD. Great review!
Books are beautiful.

I would have expected a whimsical set of poems as well, but this book seems to look at the more serious side of being an adult. It may include some content beyond my comfort level, but it sounds like a powerful set of well-written words nonetheless.

Adulting is a poetry book that appeal to people, especially lovers of poetry stuff. Unfortunately, my love for verses is not the best. I think I'll give this a pass. Thanks for the review.

A book of poetry and prose that reflects many experiences of the author. It covers relevant topics and seems geared towards modern young women. I find it an interesting option.

This sounds interesting, with the view of Kenya. I’m sure poetry readers will like this. Thanks for your review!
