When a piece of poetry tends toward telling a life's story, it becomes something beyond interesting! I have no doubts it is same with this book. Congrats on BOTD.

I read a sampling of this, and was amazed at the depth of emotion felt just by reading a few pages. The author does an amazing job of pullung the reader into the story, leaving them feeling the weight of emotions. I am not sure I could read the entire book because of the content matter. I'm not sure those are emotions I want to be immersed in.

I do like the writers quote from William H. McRaven concerning finding someone to paddle with you. That is true for us all, not to go through it alone.

This is a really great review! I appreciate how you included the disconnect in the narrative later on in the poetry and the way some poems felt out of place. This is good for readers to know in advance. It is impressive though that the author was able to tell a whole story with so many difficult themes in a series of poems.

It's a unique way of telling someone's story using poetry, this book has a unique way of the unfolding of events. Great work of poetry.

When words are not enough, pictures suffice. However, poems convey a depth that the ordinary mind cannot fathom.

Telling an entire life story in poetic verses is an expression of a deep heart.

Good job, Lois Chapin.
