This book seems like a great option for poetry lovers. It addresses issues associated with real personal and societal needs such as personal evolution, loss, and social injustice, among others. I like that it is devoid of unnecessary sophistication since sometimes poetry may be difficult to understand.

This is wonderful poetry addressing societal issues such as gun violence, racial bias, and female victims. The poet adds a personal touch to the poems, expressing her feelings of acceptance of herself and embracing positive light. I enjoyed reading your thorough review.

I don't usually read poetry because I get bored with it. But this book comes free, so I will give it a try.

A book of poetry on personal and societal issues that require redress. The poems are not lengthy, which I think opens them to a wider audience. I loved the use of imagery in between each page of text.

Sandra Leon-Gonzalez's poetry collection, "Finding My Wings," is divided into three sections: "What It Is to Persevere," "What It Is to Live and Love," and "What It Is to Be Free." The language fluctuates between evocation, declaration, assertion, appeal, and melancholy as the author addresses such issues as personal evolution (as can be seen in "In Perfect Focus"), loss (as can be seen in "The End of a Journey"), social injustice (as can be seen in "The Narrative"), and collective victory (as can be seen in "For the Win"). The mention of poetic devices and the appealing use of visuals adds to the book's appeal. The review rates it five out of five stars without any suggested improvements. This book is temporary free on Amazon so I have bought it and put it on my shelf to read. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.
