It looks like in his poetry O Persuad has made it point at times to breakaway from rhyme to just to speak his heart out going straight to the issue of hurt, pain, and shame, much of it is structural and systemic. He has used poetic freedom to tell it like it feels, perhaps. This is an interesting work of art. Good review on the work, looks balanced in its assessment.

Thanks for your review. Shitolian is quite an exotic slang, and it seems the poems also address some dark themes like slavery, AIDS, domestic violence, and blood diamonds.

I am surely intrigued by this book. Poetry books that explores God, nature, domestic violence, AIDS and slavery. The author is so skilled and plays with words in an interesting manner.

This book sure ticks a lot of my boxes: witty, sarcastic, versatile, and interesting. I think I'll like this book.

I'm new to reading poems, and I enjoyed reading the sample. The profound messages were directly expressed even with the use of few words. As for the issue on worrying, it's easier said than done. I look forward to reading more about this book.

I have a love/hate relationship with poetry, but this collection seems to be just right combination of plain language and deep meaning for me to potentially be more on the “love” side if I were to read it. I also enjoy when the writer includes a more sarcastic/humorous side in their work. Thank you for the helpful review.

Nice review, you explained the collection so very well. I think I'm gonna pass this one as I'm not really a big fan of poetry.

I love poetry! And I've been planning on reviewing this book as well. I love that it covers a lot of difficult, sensitive topics. I just hope I share the same opinions as the author.

Poems are always amazing. They have a special way of allowing you to create a vivid image in your mind. However, with so much profanities, I might just want to pass over this one. This is a beautiful review.

I'm hesitating to read this because of the title. I'm glad I made some research and read the review. This one looks like something that I will read and enjoy. I just love poetry so much even though I don't understand it sometimes. LOL. Thanks for reviewing this. I'm definitely looking forward.

Persaud managed to do something a lot of authors haven't been able to do, and has (in my opinion) successfully raised awareness of very relatable social issues that need to be tackled through a very fluent and enjoyable way. Thanks for the review!
