1000 Rhyming Gems, written by The Bipolar Composer, is a book of thoughtful expressions and unique rhymes. As the title suggests, the book contains one thousand gems that are meant to enrich the heart and mind. These are short, insightful sayings that are full of wisdom. They also express the author’s thoughts and opinions on certain topics.

All in all, I enjoyed reading 1000 Rhyming Gems, as the sayings were fun and easy to read. Often, I could relate to some of these sayings, and that increased my enjoyment of the book. Also, the way some of these short expressions rhymed made the book a light read. Take the following expression, for example: "Don’t just sit and dwell; do what needs doing and all will be well."

Furthermore, I appreciated the encouraging tone of the book. As someone who enjoys reading motivational quotes, I was really inspired and encouraged by the author’s words. The wisdom in his words reminded me of some of the important things in life. Indeed, I was reminded that “[we] must win the war within.” Those were powerful words from the author.

Nevertheless, I had issues with the book. I did not understand some of the sayings, as I felt they lacked context and had meaning only to the author. These sayings often referred to something that only the author knew or could understand. Take the following expression, for example: “This thing has [an] unusually large screen.” I can only assume that the author was referring to a phone or laptop screen.

Also, the book quickly became boring, as reading the same kind of short sayings was monotonous. I would have loved it if the author varied the length of these sayings. He could have also included comments or longer explanations to some of his expressions, especially the ones that lacked context. These are just my suggestions, but I believe something can be done to make the book more interesting.

Considering the above issues, I have decided to take a star from the rating, and so I rate 1000 Rhyming Gems 3 out of 4 stars. I did not rate it lower because of the aforementioned positive attributes of the book. Further, I believe it was professionally edited, as I found only one error in it. Although there were some mentions of God, I believe the book is suitable for both religious and non-religious people. Finally, I would recommend it to lovers of poetry.

True. Reading some rhyming lines can become monotonous. But some of them you mentioned has given me an insight into the author's capabilities. Thanks for a detailed review, Elvis!

I think I would love it for, maybe, a daily motivational book instead of a read-through book. The rhyming words sounds way too many I'd get tired along the way and even forget important ones.

The book sounds uplifting. I'm a bit leary of the "boring parts" though. Also, why does the author call him/herself "The Bipolar Composer"? Is that explained?
