When you feel particularly dreary and gloomy, what do you like to read? In such bleak times, Troy Harmon's Visions could be a decent pick. This book is both a collection of meaningful poetry and a piece of art, and it can help you unwind after a long day. In my opinion, Troy Harmon's Visions is similar to a chapbook, comprising numerous short poems on diverse subjects and topics. The author has aptly named the book, as the book provides precisely what it says-"Visions". The author's poetry has significant meanings, and this immediately connects the readers with the theme. Most of the poems are intellectual, profound, and well-worthwhile. That being the case, I greatly loved the reading experience. The book directly begins with the poems, which are organised into several topics, such as "The Fading Day", "Psychedelic Fires", and so on.

However, there were a few aspects of the book that I didn't like. To begin with, the book does not contain a prologue, or an introduction to the author. An introduction to the book and to the author is an entertaining and engaging tool for the readers, which helps them understand what they may expect from the book. Secondly, there is no index page in the book, and also, the pages are not numbered, which was a turnoff for me.

Keeping aside the aforementioned inconsistencies, I would like to convey that the outcome of the author’s hard work is pretty interesting and remarkable. It's also a brief read, clocking in at just 40 to 50 pages. The author has attempted to cover an extraordinarily wide range of topics in this short book, spanning from the New Year, Christmas and Life to Heaven, Fire and Last Walks.

For the reasons stated above, I would give this book 2 out of 4 stars. If it had been possible, I would have given it 2.5 stars, because it was a good book altogether. I could only spot one minor grammatical error in the book, so I can confidently state that it has been professionally edited.

This book, in my opinion, will appeal to those who prefer poetry and short reads. Also, the book is suitable for young readers as it does not contain any adult content and absolutely no profanity. In addition, students in schools and universities can use it as a learning tool. Poets looking for inspiration or a good collection of poetry should check out this book.
