[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Penelopes Purple Passions" by Penelope Chaisson.]
Penelope’s Purple Passion: The Emergence Of The Butterfly by Penelope Chaisson is a collection of poems that depicts the poet's love, life, pain, heartbreak, and how she got back on her feet. It’s filled with a lot of lessons on love and life.
It starts when the poet falls in love. She soon realizes that love is not a bed of roses. She sees that love is not simple and that it also varies. In her state of pain, she keeps on remembering her past with her lover and also has dreams of him.
She decides to forget about the past and join the pieces of her life back together. She ventures on a journey of growth, development, and self-discovery. She got a new lease on life, and she views life from a different perspective. She realized that without the pain and heartbreak, she wouldn’t have discovered and learned so much about herself.
This book has a lot of positive aspects. This book is beautiful. The language of this book was relatively easy to understand as I did not have a hard time understanding the words used in this book. I loved the style in which these poems were written. I like the fact that it’s easy to read and it’s a fast read. I was also able to relate to most of the poems which were written in this book. I like the fact that there is a poem almost everyone can relate to from this book. I was emotionally connected with Chaisson in this book. I felt the same way she felt at nearly every point in this book. I felt sad when she got heartbroken and wished for her lover to be close to her. I felt happy when she picked up her life and embarked on a development journey. I was able to learn a whole lot from this book. I gained so much knowledge from Chaisson's experiences on love and life. I found out that if she had not experienced pain and heartbreak, she would not have discovered and learned so much about herself. I loved the fact that after her experiences, she was able to make a wise decision.
I tried so hard to find a negative aspect to this book, but I found none. I enjoyed everything about this book. I didn’t spot any grammatical errors while I read this book. This shows that it was exceptionally well edited.
Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. This book is so easy to read, and it doesn’t take so much time from you. That I could relate to most of the poems in this book made it beautiful for me. I recommend this book to lovers of poetry.
