Review of A Brighter Tomorrow
A Brighter Tomorrow by Lori Schneider, MD is an inspiring work of poetry that delves into many aspects of humanity. The book has 96 pages, and it contains thirty-six poems. The thirty-six poems are categorized under seven unique themes: The creative process, pandemic 2020, injustice, courage, love, hope, and a bright tomorrow. The book starts with a poem that expresses the author's perspective on poetry. She goes on to talk about the lifestyle of people during the pandemic and how the pandemic affected the stability of things. As a neurologist and a mother, Lori has a lot of experience, and she expressed herself in her poems. The third unique section is about the level of injustice and brutality that people have encountered. The fourth theme revolves around the necessity of having a bold spirit in the midst of drowning waters. Under the fifth theme, Lori writes verses that reflect love and the necessity of showing love. The sixth theme is about instilling hope in the heart of people who are weak and depraved.
A Brighter Tomorrow by Lori Schneider, MD is an intriguing work of poetry that is filled with a lot of lessons. The artwork was done by Mark Salevitz, and they are self-explanatory. Lori did a good job of using simple and relatable words to express herself. The poems within this book reflect the experience of the author, and it is inspiring. The lines of the poems are rhythmic, and I believe that they were not written with a definite pattern.
An artist is a creator of art, and Lori is an artist. Some of the poems speak of the injustice and brutality that people have experienced. I love the honesty of the author, and I am inspired to do better as a poet.
My favorite poem was "Unsung Heroes", and I learned that there were people who did great things for humanity, but they did not receive recognition like others. Some of the poems give details about historical events like the second world war, 9/11, and COVID-19. I love the fact that she talked about the fear that gripped people during the outbreak of the aforementioned historical tragedies.
I enjoyed every aspect of the author's work. Every poet has a message embedded within the lines of their poem, and it is necessary to understand the poet's message. Lori's poems contain advice that is entirely important for the advancement of life.
This book was well written. The poems were exceptionally edited, and I did not notice any grammatical or spelling errors while reading this work of poetry. However, I had issues with the page format.
One of the vital things I learned is that it is necessary to strive for the best version of everything. I will recommend this beautiful work of poetry to young adults, and I believe that it will inspire them to be responsible and caring. Therefore, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars due to the few points mentioned above and because of the author's writing style.
