What a lovely review, Hager! I agree that it is an interesting idea to combine poems in English and Spanish in one book. I read both languages, and I enjoyed sampling a few poems. Like you, I was impressed by the high quality and by the author's life path, and I too would rate this book all stars.

There are some really lovely poems in both Spanish and English in this book. They aren't explained. You can still appreciate the book even if you can only speak one of them. Although the poems cover a wide range of subjects, their primary theme is overcoming suffering and adversity. The author wrote about her trips and her favorite locations. I appreciate the book's optimistic tone. It also lacks needless complexity and is simple to understand.

Poems are a beautiful way to express a lifetime of emotions regardless of the language. It is the most soul-touching format. I’m happy to know that the author used easy and straightforward language. Congrats on the BOTD!

Today's book is a collection of short poems, written in English and Spanish, by Ileana Gonzalez Monserrat.

Like the language, the poems have varied themes, and the author's writing style is accessible. Readers are sure to find something that would resonate with them in the collection.

Ileana Gonzalez Monserrat's poetry collection Contemplacion: Thoughts and Poems includes poems in both Spanish and English. There are little poems throughout the book. It's an innovative decision to combine two languages in one book. The book cover is really exquisite. The review is written really nicely. excited to start reading this book. Congratulations on BOTD, author.

I hate it when poets use difficult and incomprehensible words in their poems. I am glad that Gonzalez Monserrat uses comprehensive language that the readers can understand what they are trying to pass across.

Hi @Tejas Koli, your comments on this official review summarized the review very well in a few sentences. I found the review somewhat confusing but I agree with the 5-star review. Thanks. @Mrlefty0706

Thank you for the indepth review that captures the soul of this poem book. "Poetry is the voice of our collective soul." That is a great quote to include to distill the style of the author. it is not an easy book to read if you're not fluent in both English and Spanish, as it it sort of 50/50, yet the flow of her poetry does carry the soul of her poetry even if you dont speak the language.

Thanks for the review. Cuba has a very interesting history and culture. So does Turkey. Sounds like a great book to learn about those and other cultures.

I like that this book contains inspirational poems. Though I wish they were all in English because I wouldn't be able to understand those in Spanish. Thanks for the review.
