The Excerpts of My Mind by Theo Angeles is a thought-provoking collection of poetry that delves into the depths of the author's emotions, offering readers a glimpse into his personal struggles with suicide, lost love, and the complexities of relationships. With its raw and heartfelt verses, this book has the power to stir the readers' emotions and leave a lasting impact.

One of the most striking themes explored in this collection is the profound impact of suicide on both the individual and those left behind. Theo Angeles courageously tackles this sensitive topic, shedding light on the pain and devastation experienced by both the victim and their loved ones. The poems depict the aftermath of such tragic events, capturing the ripple effect of sorrow and grief that reverberates through relationships. This particular aspect of the collection left a lasting impression on me, as it evoked empathy and introspection.

Additionally, The Excerpts of My Mind features an engaging poem that explores the qualities that define a good man and a healthy relationship. It is a poignant piece that resonates with readers, offering a fresh perspective on what it takes to nurture a genuine and meaningful connection. Particularly female readers may find this poem relatable and appreciate the author's insights into the dynamics of relationships.

While the content of the book is undoubtedly captivating, one aspect that could be improved is the formatting. The scattered placement of the poems across different pages disrupts the flow and coherence of the collection. A more cohesive layout, with properly aligned poems on each page, would have enhanced the reading experience and improved the overall presentation. However, I found only a few minor errors, showing it was professionally edited.

Nevertheless, The Excerpts of My Mind is a powerful and introspective collection of poetry that captures the tumultuous nature of the human experience. Theo Angeles' writing possesses a rawness and authenticity that are sure to resonate with readers seeking emotional depth and introspection. Despite the minor flaw in formatting, the book succeeds in leaving a profound impact on the reader's mind and heart and gets a 5 out of 5 star rating from me.

Having thoroughly enjoyed this collection, I eagerly anticipate future works from Theo Angeles, as his ability to evoke intense emotions through his poetry is both captivating and inspiring. The Excerpts of My Mind is an exploration of the human condition, reminding us of the importance of empathy, understanding, and personal growth in navigating the complexities of life and relationships.
