The Many Colors of My Heart by Eddie Sullivan is a collection of poems in which the verses are loaded with mixed deep emotions. It seems that the verses are inspired by the author's own life and feelings. The book contains numerous motifs, such as love, sadness, grief, the transience of life, forgiveness, and hope. The poems are incredibly picturesque; it is possible to imagine every verse completely realistically, although nearly every single one is written allegorically.

First of all, I must emphasize that this collection of poems pleasantly surprised me. I like the structure and layout of the entire book. The author follows a specific style and structure, and the overall composition is visually pleasing. In addition, the verses burst with the author's emotions. They are written metaphorically and symbolically, which shows the author's originality and knack for combining various motifs and stylistic figures. "The Many Colors of My Heart" is the first poem in which the reader can feel the various and turbulent emotions of the author, which he compares to different natural phenomena. I appreciate that some poems are educational as well, like "Rising from the Ashes," which teaches that nothing is perfect, including true love. Often, what we consider to be true love or the perfection we strive for or dream of in our youth is just a fantasy and does not exist. Another poem I enjoyed is "The Child Inside," in which the author admires the infinite creativity of children.

I must honestly say that there is nothing in the book that I did not like. I loved every aspect of this collection and enjoyed reading almost every verse. The book is intertwined with emotions, and I think everyone could find at least one poem with which they could identify.

For all the above reasons, I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. I have no reason to give it a lower rating. The editing also seems very good, considering I came across only one error.

I would recommend the book primarily to all poetry lovers. I would also recommend it to everyone who likes allegorical literature and who likes to interpret the text in their own way because this book makes it possible.
