"Looking Inwards: A Journey into Turiya" by Sameer Pendse is a poetic masterpiece that goes beyond mere verses, offering readers a profound exploration of life and self. Pendse's writing is not just a collection of poems but a heartfelt self-expression, contributing to the genre of "social responsibility" poetry.

The book's structure is organized into three parts: In America, Middle Years in India, and Starting in the UK. This chronological arrangement provides a glimpse into the author's evolution, making the journey relatable and engaging. Pendse's intimate references to "our boys" and reflections on his own experiences, such as coming to America a decade ago, add authenticity and depth to the narrative.

The inclusion of family elements adds a cultural touch, grounding the poems in a familiar and homely context. The poems are a testament to Pendse's skill, with each word carefully chosen to convey profound emotions. The "Basking Ridge" poem, in particular, stands out for its beautiful portrayal of Emily's existence in the afterlife. Pendse skillfully combines personal anecdotes, philosophical reflections, and practical exercises to guide readers on their journey inward.

While the book contains spiritual content, it manages to strike a balance that welcomes readers of all backgrounds. The exploration of society, gender, and divinity adds layers to the poetry, making it a rich and diverse reading experience. What sets this book apart is not only its thematic depth but also its flawless execution—free from typographical or spelling errors. There is nothing much I dislike about the book. It is exceptionally well-edited. There are no grammatical errors in the book.

"Looking Inwards: A Journey into Turiya" deserves a solid 5 out of 5 stars for its overwhelming benefits. It is a poetic journey that not only captivates the reader's heart and mind but also offers a flawless literary experience. Whether you are a poetry enthusiast or someone seeking a meaningful exploration of life, this book is a must-read that leaves a lasting impact—the beauty of its poems truly lasts forever.
