Looking Inwards: A Journey into Turya by Sameer Pendse is a collection of spiritual poems. They are mostly dedicated to God, our inner thoughts and feelings, and how the world runs around us. The author mostly uses metaphors to express his mind, and some of the poems even feel abstract. A lot of them are about religion, philosophy, and life experiences.

I liked the author's style of expression. It was very dynamic and thought-provoking. Going through the poems felt like solving a puzzle and getting close to his main ideas. I gladly undertook this journey and had many thought-provoking moments when I just paused at one of the poems for a while and took time to evaluate it and apply it to my knowledge. It was quite fun. It made me realize a lot of things, as well as making me feel small in such a huge universe of planets, thoughts, philosophy, and so much more. As a Christian, I loved reading about his viewpoint on God and giving this matter a little more time and attention. Additionally, the book was exceptionally well edited, since I haven’t come across a single error.

There was no negative side to this book. If anything, some untrained readers might find it a bit hard to understand every poem and the meaning behind them, as I did in some cases myself, but the collection is clearly for lovers of poetry who also appreciate matters such as religion and philosophy. Therefore, I don’t consider this factor to be a flaw. Every book has a designated audience, and this one is a bit more advanced.

I rate this book a perfect 5 out of 5 stars. It was thought-provoking, interesting, meaningful, and well-written and edited.

I would recommend this book to poetry lovers who are also interested in psychology, philosophy, religion, and supernatural events. The poems will inspire a lot of people. I would also like to note once again that it will be best suited to people who have built up enough knowledge and technique to read complex poems and are confident that they'll be able to understand the author’s ideas.
