Very simple, no real depth or meaning.

I think there is depth in the poem
"Without speaking to me" and in the fact that the line is delivered at the end
I think this is well done - because it isn't just simple there is a twist =)

I agree. He/she is watching and waiting for the other to acknowledge their presence. But then I'm like, "Why didn't you say anything either?!" See, I'm way too into it, it's not so simple. What happens? Why are they not speaking? What's the relationship?

I get way too involved.

I believe it was an act of deliberate silence. In which the writer expected a recognition of his/her presence in between those actions performed. I could be doing those things and still conversing with the writer.
