Bleeding Gull: Look, Feel, Fly is a poetry book written by Raed Anis Al-Jishi. This book contains a total of 88 free verse poems that were written beautifully. The poems have no set meter, no rhyme scheme, and no particular structure but it is still good and artistic.

The poems in this book have diverse themes which the author wrote about: love, culture, life, pain, diseases, family, hope and many more. His poems are short, but despite the limited words that he wrote, you will feel the emotions in each one, and it can unleash unlimited feelings in your heart. Furthermore, the imagery and message of each piece will punch you in the gut. It is thought-provoking and will leave you in deep thinking. My favorite poem in this book is "Twinkling" its a simple poetry that captured my heart, and this is the part of the poem that I love the most:
Your eyes are the windows
That can contain
All the borders’ shades
In that whole universe.
Al-Jishi is an Arabian poet who is both a feminist and a human rights activist. In this book, you will have a glimpse of his Arabian side where he wrote a few poems about their culture. He also wrote poems about women and their struggles and wars in life. His human rights activism stance is also evident in this book. He wrote poems about addiction and physical imprisonments. I enjoyed reading this poetry book everything is raw and full of emotions. Also, each poem carries a feeling that will creep inside your heart and will crave its mark in your mind and soul.

I recommend this book to everyone who loves poetry, especially to those people who likes a touch of irony and personification in poems. Majority of the poems in this book are realistic, and some of it is relatable. Those features made the book easy to read and love.

I don't have any issue in this book. The poems are great, the title sounds good, the format and the minimal design on each page look simple and elegant. Furthermore, Al-Jishi's writing style is quite unique compared to the other poets that I know. His poems have a powerful pull that makes it really good and artistic. Also, the way that he played with words is really fascinating it made his poems mysterious and interesting. For that reasons, I will rate this book 4 out of 4 stars it is really good and heartwarming poetry book.

I'm not a fan of poems as I find them difficult to understand. However, these ones have piqued my interest for the author talks about women and their struggles. Fascinating review!
