Love Confessions
Jack and Jennifer have been friends since they were toddlers attending daycare together. Their feelings for each other began to develop in high school, but it wasnât until one stormy night on a weekend getaway to a small island off the East coast with their college friends that they reveal their true feelings to each other.
âThis cabin is awesome, check this out,â exclaimed Robin.
âYeah, it's really warm in here too considering it's freezing outside,â Robinâs girlfriend Britney points out.
âAww you have me to warm you up anyway,â Robin states flirtatiously.
âOK guys, before you start over-sharing, how about we unpack and then head out for dinner,â Jack suggests.
âAgreed, Iâm starving,â Jennifer replies. Jack smiles at Jennifer and begins to help her unpack. âIt's OK, Iâve got it,â she says. âThank you, though,â she adds politely.
âAnything for you,â Jack says softly, while Jennifer quickly turns around to hide her blushing face.
After dinner, they all returned to the cabin.âGuys?â Jennifer hesitantly says.
âWhat's up?â Britney asks.
âWhat's up is there are only two beds. Where is everyone going to sleep?â
Britney and Robin share a knowing smile before Robin speaks up âBritney and I are gonna sleep in one bed and you and Jack in the otherâ
âWHAT?â Jack and Jennifer yell simultaneously.
âIt is no big deal it's just two nights, Iâm sure you will both manage,â Britney says with a sneaky smile.
After much persuasion, Jack and Jennifer indeed shared the same bed. After Jennifer had fallen asleep Jack put his arm around her waist to hold her close and dozed off soon after.
When Jack and Jennifer woke up the next morning, Britney and Robin were gone. Jack sees a note on their bed and reads it. âSorry to leave without you but Robin and I wanted to explore the city and you two looked too adorable to wake up,â Jack reads monotonously.
âThe weather doesnât look too good, I might just stay in,â Jennifer shyly states.
âIâll stay too, in fact I know something we can do,â Jack says wiggling his eyebrows before he gets something from his bag.
âScrabble, yes, let's play,â Jennifer says enthusiastically.
While playing Scrabble, Jenniferâs words included âloveâ, âromanceâ and âkissâ. âI'm sensing a theme here,â Jack says chuckling.
âShut up, theyâre the only words I can make,â Jennifer laughs back.
After their laughter winds down they stare into each other's eyes and lean in. Before they realise what they are doing their lips are moving in sync with each other. âI have wanted to do that for so long Jenniferâ
âSo have I,â she replies.
âReally?â
âYeah.â
âWhat do you say we miss the boat back home and make this a week-long getaway?â
âI would love that.â
After another passionate kiss, Jack pulls back and utters the words he has longed to say for years, âI love you, Jennifer.â
Jennifer smiles and replies, âI love you too, Jackâ
