Icon Teach Me How to Love You

Post by Abigail09 »

Two people sitting facing each other in a closed space (a man and a woman)
Person 1 (p1) , Person 2 (p2)
p1: Hi !(surprised)
p2: Hey (expressionless)
p1: You are back!
p2: Yes I am
p1: I didn't think it would be so soon.
p2: Silence..Me too.
Silence..
p2: I don't think I can do it.
p1: You don't think? ..... How hard did you try?
p2: As hard as possible... I didn't want to force myself. You said I shouldn't. It should come freely.
p1: But you came back too soon. Did you really try? Are you sure you tried enough? Can you maybe try more? I feel...I feel like you can do it if you tried more.
p2: I did try. I tried so much but...
cuts in
p1: I still think you...
cuts in
p2: I know you do
p1: Really! do you?
p2: I do. I wanted to learn but it felt more like I was forcing myself. One thing I want to say is that I missed the company. I felt the absence. I just couldn't bring my heart to flutter regardless of the time apart.
p1: I guess you really tried.
p2: I'm not sure its even right doing this. I came to you, told you everything because you are a counselor.
p1: Yes its my job.
p2: But is it right that you were the person I came to?
p1: I don't understand.
p2: I mean...yes, you are a counselor''
p1: Yeeees?
p2: But you are also the person I want and wish to love. I came to you telling you to 'teach me how to love you'.
p1: And I am glad you did... I don't want to loose you.(quickly adds)
p2: I don't want to either. What should we do?
p1: Do you want to give it more time? I mean us.
p2: Will it change anything? Will more time help?
p1: I will wait for as long as possible. Please give it time.
silence...
p2: Okaaay. I will...
P1 rushes in for a hug and kiss.
P1: Thank You
p2: Thank You for your patience.
They stayed in each other's embrace for as long as possible ......
THE END

Oh I’d love to know a backstory behind this conversation. The title totally grabbed my attention too.

I totally loved this. I would love to know what happened later, if they gave themselves time and did it change anything. Good work.

I agree with Shaunee1, I'd love to know the backstory to this conversation. You did a really good job at crafting an intense and emotional scene using only dialogue.
