Open Arms

Every broken heart
needs a special place
A surrounding comfort
that's warm and safe
A damaged faith
with wounds to tend
Seeks a shelter
and time to mend
A quiet haven
where tears are she'd
and the cost of trust
not paid in bed
Without the questions
that love demands
No third degree
or eager hands
A silent sanctuary
to still the hate
that helps to strengthen
a fragile state
A friend will remember
what you have done
Paying it forward
when another heart runs
