Freedom for Patriots

Post by Samwisekoop »

In honor of Memorial Day and all the heroes that died to give us a free country, I would like to post a poem that I wrote last Memorial Day in 2019. Please, give honest feedback.

Freedom for Patriots
The Price of freedom paid for me.
All in suffering, none in vanity.
Tipped the glass sowing victory into reality.
Running feet, bloody hills, traitors of insanity.
Icy rivers, sunken ships, cannons of mortality.
One-shot to ring the bell of liberty.
Let's honor those who died to give us a free country.

Your taste for subjects to write about seems matured. You are not into heart-break stuff and those sorts of blues usually resorted to by young writers. Poems are usually venues for expressing one's philosophy.
"In the beginning was the word.........John 1:1"
...To delineate the times that lovers miss,
...A thousand dreams can't beat a single kiss.

You think so...? Thank you! Yes, I feel like sometimes I too heavily express my philosophies in my poems. But, it is what it is. Stay safe! Thank you for stopping by!

This one is such a great and unique poem! I really liked it! I am currently trying to spread the message of the people who died forbour country to everyone. Because they need to realise that we need to make this a better place and fulfill their dreams.
