Is This Why Flowers Are Fragile?

Post by bush reads »

The moonlit room smells like coffee and nostalgia.
You cover the mirrors with silk curtains,
Play the warmest song on your playlist, on full volume,
Sip on some coffee,
Until your own ears are oblivious to your sobs,
And your tongue has something more bitter to taste,
And only your shadows make it into the room.
Because unlike reflections, they do not have your misery plastered on their faces.
Seventeen sunflowers bloom between your teeth.
You smile (you don't want to) and the world falls to its feet.
Flowers are fragile,
Because they have no choice.
They'd rather have thorns instead of petals.

I really like this piece, I understand where you are coming from and the struggles that this portrays. This connect many people together as this is how they feel on the inside, how they feel when they have no one. I really admire this as I somewhat relate and I can also understand it so well.
