All of me changed
Bruises and scars
I tried to protect my heart
Hiding in my room
Because the world is very cruel
Monsters creeping under my bed
Shadows staring at me from the corners
Fears feel like barbed-wires rounding my mind,
The car drove off the road
Caught like a deer in the headlights
My life flashed before my eyes
All the callousness they tried to put inside me,
Bounced-back at them
I lost and lost
Till there was nothing else to lose
And I wake with a sharp ache in my bones
Nostalgic memories
Moments that died in time
Things and people I could never have again
The old me I’ve been trying to find
She died
Soaked pillow in acid rain
Give me those warm nights back
Give me those hugs and genuine smiles
The happiness that once belonged to me
Now it belongs to someone else
Like a broken light
I’ve been haunting this lonely house.
