Icon Love is just an ending season

Post by Lucia Pernalette »

Winter was never my favorite season
Days as icy as solitude, as solitaire as the bare trees
But we met on a starry night in a snow-covered street
Surrounded by people, yet lonely as me
I did see, in your eyes, the comfort of loneliness
And yet, the burning feeling of yearning and need

I wish to feel the heat of your body only in winter
For I want to keep warmth on cold days
Wishing the loneliness away, we spent hours in front of a fire
Burning dead hopes and empty promises as quickly as the season ends
Not even you could save the fate of temporary desire
An ending, so awaited yet so dreaded, with nothing more to mend

Spring was always my favorite season
The birth of true warmth and the hope of a new life
And the promising heat of the sun gifted my annual rebirth
Loneliness was never a guest, not like the flowers or the soft wind
Not until I met you, at least
For you do not wish the heat of company in spring

Now I prefer the cold touch of an old life instead
Let's forget spring, with its promising warmth and new opportunities
Now the emptiness of winter is what I desire most
As it happens to be the moment you crave heat
And I, as empty as I come, can be the fire that you light
Now, winter has become the spring that I've always dreamed
