A stature of grief

Post by Ronnie Onchiri »

As I walk through the empty streets of life,
Dimmed, with no clear vision,
Carrying a heavy load of the past,
With nowhere to offload my thoughts,
And not clear of what the future holds.

Raging war with myself,
Going back and forth with despair,
Digging unnecessary trenches of hate,
With unforgiving as a beautiful word
Building grudges with the unknown.

My world had been overshadowed,
With no space to let in light,
Darkness had taken over my throne,
I couldn’t tune to one frequency,
Unparalleled waves lost my channel.

What had become of me,
Once a man of status in the society
Now a stature of grief in the society
A point of reference to the immoral,
Undisciplined, lost and unruly.
