FOREVER AND A DAY

I have been waiting
At frirst seconds, minutes, hours
But now it's been weeks
Soon to turn into months.

At times I can't help but wonder
For my mind has turned into this workshop
Where all I do is think
So I pour it out in ink.

Sleep is no longer sleep
It's just where I show all I never did
It's where all is revealed that I ever hid
That so called perfect me is put aside .

The next day comes and I can't help
I can't help to expect you
And may if I didn't have expectations
Then I wouldn't have to go through this hurt.

Then again I try to pour it out
But the sour hesitation returns
So I tend to keep it inside
And tell myself to leave it behind.

Everyone deserves a second chance
But maybe that's the mistake I make
Trust blindly, forgive and remake then history repeats
Then silently I bake it in and tell myself;

Maybe tomorrow will be different, yes! Maybe
So now I will try to leave room for disappointments
Then maybe I won't have to be where I am now
For now it's forever and a day.
