How I envy the monkeys...

Post by Esther Nyonga »

Oh, how I long to swing and play
To be a monkey, wild and free
In the zoo, where tourists stay
And all the visitors would see

With fur so soft and eyes so bright
I'd climb and jump with glee and might
In the trees, I'd make my home
And never feel alone

But as a human, I'm just a bore
Days pass by without a glance
No one cares, I'm such a chore
My life seems like a wasted chance

I envy monkeys, carefree and fun
With all the attention they've won
Their antics bring such joy and cheer
Oh, how I wish I could be near

So here I am, a human in sight
Yearning to be a monkey with might
To be loved and adored by all
And have a life that's not so small.
