The Mailbox

Known it was to me that it could be the end of our days,
The time that we thought was ours,never planned to stay,

Yet somewhere I knew there would be a blurry trail,
Making me his forfeited quest for Holy Grail,

Stubborn was the mind that knew it led to the wrong path,
But for the heart it was always about that one last chance,

What felt like years to adapt to the reality with stained flaws,
Buzzed to the right on my phone a notification on " My Mailbox",

It read "Proofread" on the subject line and an edited version of a verse,
Regards from the silent critic, the other half of the curse.
