You

You bring a smile to someone's lips.
Oh, that energy feels alive!
I began to wonder if you ever felt the same,
As hope against hope lingers on.

The atmosphere shifts, poles apart without you.
I imagine savoring your fondness,
Beyond what’s common in this day and age.
Thoughts of you give an adrenaline rush.

Time heals, and yet the heart finds a reason to remember.
Silencing the thumping is an endless clash.
Us—would it be in another life?
How passionately the heart has journeyed
Through the length of time,
As it waits for you.
