You still put us children first

For all the times we didn’t listen,
For all the days we did it our way
For every time you didn’t give up,
For the times I had to interrupt

For all the times it was all about me,
For all the minutes, days, and hours
For all the times I was selfish and rude,
For your lost dreams sacrificed for ours

For all the disappointments and letdowns,
For all the lies and the stories
For all the ignored calls and questions,

For all the days I took for granted,
For every single missed memory
For every time I say I love you,
Please know I truly mean it, with all of me!

To my mother, whom I admire more than any other. For the pain she goes through just to have another day in this world that is so cruel as to let such pain exist!
