Just monotonous texts.

Because in a world so digital
an emoji can do it all-
laugh, wink, smile, cry.
No need to look at the person
Behind the screen

No reason to question why
they would lie.
Why would they cry
at the disconnection, the isolation behind the screen

When they have 500 friends
and 600 followers who are there
to care and share
in all they do and say.

Who needs friends in reality
When our society has defined each other
to a single page, our rage into 140-characters
And it does not register that we are no longer human.

We, the human race, now live
in a cyber space
Where technology
has become technolog-me.

So unplug, undo,
erase, don't paste.
Just talk.
Face to face.
