Motherhood

Post by Oliviachan »

Oh the joy of bringing a young tender soul to the world
Oh the joy of holding the soul in your arms
Oh the joy of watching the first steps
Oh the joy of the first milestones
Oh the pain of them letting go of not only your hand but your heart
Oh the pain of the first time they shout "I hate you"
Oh the pain of graduating
Oh the joy of starting a new family
Oh the joy of them starting motherhood
Oh the joy and pain of motherhood

I really like this poem. It's sweet! It's rare to find decent poems about motherhood anymore. Thank you

Wow. Mothers feel such deep emotions of joy and pain, and that is nicely portrayed.

“there have been so many times
i have seen a man wanting to weep
but
instead
beat his heart until it was unconscious.

Nicely done. I feel joy and pain associated with motherhood every day. It is a unique and wonderful poem.
