Catching the School Bus

Post by aagrawal000 »

The alarm screeches,
To the feet, my brain beseeches
My body has a letup
I wishfully wake up.

My head is groggy
and my eyes are foggy
I have butterflies in my stomach
Really, really, rambunctiously feel sick.

As I get out, the bed creaks
In front of the bathroom mirror, I look like a freak
My hair is like a big, messy, bushy jungle
There is drool on my face, I made a bungle!

I picked up the brush,
While brushing, I remembered about my crush.
I zoned into a daydream not paying any attention to the space
Dreamily, I see her long, wavy brown hair whisking my face.

After changing into my school clothes, I comb my hair
It amazingly looks pretty fair.
To feel fresh, I splash water on my face
The water explodes all over the place.

I dash downstairs like a runner
While tying my shoes, I see a stunner
The bright yellow school bus cruises in
I rush out like Usain Bolt, and in the end I grin.

This certainly brings me back. I remember the feelings the speaker is going through and the time I wrote poetry very similar to something like this.
