It is Too Much

Post by feveredpoet »

It is Too Much

It is too much t’ take in at once,
With too many things going on,
Nothing is really that certain,
It’s like I’m running in circles,
And often I feel like I’m lost.

I ask myself, ‘Could I belong?’
Maybe I really don’t want to,
Or maybe I do, but, I’m sure,
. . . . . . . . . . . . . It is too much.

Oh, could it be by fate or luck
To be where I have ended up?
I ask, ‘Is it really worth it,
For the emotions that surface,
When all I want is to relax?'
. . . . . . . . . . . . . It is too much.

(author's note: I wrote this after being disillusioned with societal complaints, and, specifically, rants on facebook. But, I aimed for a universal appeal.)

I think that many people feel these emotions from time to time. I like the way you expressed yourself here.
Life without a good book is something MrsCatInTheHat cannot imagine.

thanks! that last part 'i like the way you expressed yourself here.' is exactly it, i felt that people were too focused on each other, in all the wrong ways. I'm glad you liked how i expressed myself. it means a lot to hear that. :)

Great job with this! I think you've written something excellent that almost everyone will be able to relate to at some point in their life.

You're very welcome. Sometimes it helps to hear what others have to say; I'm glad you found it helpful.
