A Fight For Life
A gift from the heavens, a gift from the Lord.
Skin as soft as a velvet rose.
Born with a big head but a cute baby nose.
Eyes roaming around examining the room,
thinking to himself, "I was born too soon."
He went into the emergency room in a rush.
He was breathing a little but not very much.
The doctors said he wouldn't live very long.
Two days at the most, then he'll be gone.
That beautiful boy didn't give up on life.
He knew in order to live, he'd have to fight.
For many days he fought until the battle was won.
The doctor said, "Congratulations. Welcome your son."
He escaped from death.
He escaped from being scorned.
On April 19th, a fighter was born.

Thank you so much!Jaime Lync wrote:I love this poem. The rhyme scheme is simple and fits really well with how grave a topic but how light hearted it was written. Great share.
