The Wish-Elf Riddle

Wish-Elf
I traveled cross fairy-land
Searching near and far
Till I caught a wish-elf
In a crystalline jar.
I calmed its disquietude,
And bade its heart be still.
I released the spritely charm
To offer my good will.
We perused one another,
But not for too long.
Aloft on iridescent wings,
It spoke in a song,
“You now have three wishes,
Just as the tale is told,
Be wise in your choices,
Make them strong, make them bold.”
“I wish that you could give me
A more giving soul.”
“Alas, a wish is not enough
To make your spirit whole.”
“I wish my journey brings me
A new friend, good and true.”
“I will not sway another’s heart
To suit only you.”
“Quite fair you have been,
I wish you well on your way.”
“Then, as told, your wishes three
Are granted on this day.”
