vulnerable

I don't like saying "I love you"
These eight letters open you up to a new sense of vulnerability
They make known to you your deepest insecurity
They are like a code for a ticking bomb except they work in reverse, their dire utter finally setting the bomb off

The bomb of a salsa of emotion
Fear, joy, excitement, that shiver down your spine, all in motion

But still there's always that pending fact at the back of our minds. That one fact that we choose to ignore like the eyes do the nose.

We make ourselves officially vulnerable to the recipient of these words.
Everything the recipient does affects us and we are not oblivious to this.

Question is: To what extent will we let those actions affect us?

I hate attachments
Everything that's attached follows lead
Things that follow lead are blinded

Blinded by the perception that they need not use their eyes for their lead has eyes
When one gets attached to another,
Their absence affects them
They cant eat, cant sleep, cant do anything right

They feel like a part of them has been robbed of them
They grow sloppy, feel weary
And the appearance of the other is like a breath of fresh air

A walk in to the gardens of heaven

A taste of the finest of honey
A slumber in the warmth of the finest silks

To allow such is to allow vulnerability
Its not a sin to be vulnerable
Question is: To what extent are we going to let this vulnerability drive us?

Good poem. Pretty similar to my thoughts on vulnerability, although I feel it comes in many forms, romance merely being one of them.

This poem really hit the nail on the head of how I feel about love, too! You captured the pain that vulnerability can bring very well. I like how this poem didn't flow. Sometimes it is nice to have a flowing poem, but other times it is better to have it choppy. Well done!
