Broken Bones

Sticks and stones
Have broken bones
But words can kill the laughter.

Dust and dirt
Don't cause much hurt
But sneers can choke the joy.

Snow and rain
Can't cause a maim
But thoughtless deeds can cause a storm.

Words and deeds can bring more havoc than the natural elements. It seems the hurt we suffer are mostly man-made, more than that caused by nature. Deep poem.

This poem can be felt at a deeper level. I liked how you compared natural and man made things.

Yes, the tongue is a double-edged sword. We need to be carful what we say to others for it can deeply hurt them. Thank you for stopping by and commenting! :D

Yes, you are right. We should be careful to make our words tasteful enough -- just in case we have to take it back and eat it up.
