"to be assertive vs to be rebellious" -- assertive usually means acting top-down, consistently and with clear rules. Rebellious is usually bottom-up, inspirational and in disdain of the rules.
"to rarely choose to do, but to do your best when you do" vs "to do, without trying" -- how do you know you're doing your best if you don't try to do better?
Here is an example of an unclarity:
"without becoming only human" -- I really can't see what this might mean. How does one become "only human"? As opposed to what?
Here is an example of a dangerous advice:
"to be at war in the material world" -- seriously, why? What horrible things has material world done?

Very nice and inspirational poem. Your addition of
is an important one and rounds the poem out beautifully."To make less commitments, and wholeheartedly keep the commitments you make."
This is the sort of thing one should print out and review from time to time for ourselves as well as to have on hand for those we meet who might benefit from its message.
