Blend Together
As you sit there
Both starting into our space
Our secret meeting place
The place out of sight
Out of mind
Where only two
Us two
Can combine our thoughts
Stir together
Blending so perfectly
Despite the weather
Even under pressure
So heavily influenced
Our minds glide besides each other
Guide one another
Connecting energy
Our inner light has sparked
Consuming the dark spaces
Hidden, buried within
Not meant to be found
Unless provoked by sound
The sound of our voices
Separate but still in sync
Rays of sunshine
Seem to be glowing with beams
So bright
The white blinds as beams shine through
Opening such a spot
Our dark spaces now show this light
Bringing a warm, familiar touch
Our souls can continue to shine without a fight.

I like it. It raises many interpretations in my mind: people interacting on the net, or the phone, a virtual choir, or even pen pals.
I'd be interested to learn what inspired you to write this poem.

But yes I agree with you - connections are made in a variety of ways... I've had pen pals that I still talk with from 10+ years ago. I treasure friendships and I'm always open to make more.
BTW - I like your quote; made me chuckle! Ha =]

Romantic love has probably been the inspiration for most of mankind's poetry. It is one, powerful, motivator!
The quote, of course, is by Steven Wright who also said, "You can't have everything. Where would you put it?"
