I Cried Today

Post by Scott »

September 24th, 2021

I cried today
When I thought of you
And a good time or two
That I spent with you

I cried today
Of the world this day
Those who lost their way
Those without a say

I cried today
Under the cold rain
Then in the warm light
Sometimes through the pain
Then when all was right

Tears of sadness
Tears of joy
To move on
To let go
To believe
To know
Everything is okay
I cried today

Love this. I thought of my deceased husband reading this and started crying.

You poured your heart out.
I miss my MOM and remembered her while reading.
Truly touching.

I don't like being in control, so my tears set me free with loving embrace...

Tears are not a sign of weakness, it's a good tell-tale sign of the capacity to feel and our humanity.

I love that! It brought back so many memories! Some memories were excellent and some not so good, but I realized most of my memories are precious and I'm so glad I have them all! Thanks for sharing this, Scott!

This is a poem anyone who has spent any time on this planet can relate to. The loss of a relative, friend or even pet can be devastating. Sometimes the loss is not a physical loss, but rather the loss of association as a result of estrangement, or even the memories of the loss of innocence and a world and time which no longer exists.

When I read this poem I immediately thought of Wordsworth's Intimations Of Immortality ...

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower;
We will grieve not, but rather find
Strength in what remains behind.
“I just got out of the hospital. I was in a speed reading accident. I hit a book mark and flew across the room.”

Heartbreaking and beautiful poem, Scott! It made me emotional. You have honestly expressed your deepest pain. Remember that one day: “God will wipe every tear from your eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”‭‭ Revelation‬ ‭21‬:‭4‬ ‭

Even if I cried today, still thankful for everything. It's okay not to be okay sometimes, that's life. The title of this poem is catchy!

Thank you. To love and have lost, it hurts more than anything. This helped me realize I need to finally let go. Very beautifully written, may God continue to use you

Wonderful!
For me crying shows purity. It is the second thing we did when we come out from our mother's womb.
What comes first? Of course breathing.
