As the year closes we must reflect on what has happened but never dwell on it
Now a new year is here
Take note of your losses
Set not a resolution but a change in behavior
Failure is ever present
When it occurs strive to do better

Let not the new year meet you in defeat
Be resolute in who you are
But strive to become who you were meant to be
Build not for next year but for tomorrow
As the sun rises and sets,
So does day turn into night then repeat again
With breathe in your lungs stand anew
Rise up and be who God made you to be

You have passion
Talent without dedication is but a waste
God has given us all gifts
Take hold of yours
Let your brilliance shine
Take no heed to accolades
Self satisfaction is key
In God will your glory be
