The Man in the Moon

Post by Analyse Armstrong »

The Man in the Moon:

Slow dancing,
in the hall,
after midnight.

The owls cry out their curious question—
willing that its answer will finally reply.

The night is dark,
yet I can still see you.

The man in the moon
must wonder;

—Who.

It was, that stole the flame,
that once illuminated his world.

It was you.

It was my world
that darkened his.

But it was your soul
that kept the fire.

And as we danced,
through the hall,
in the moonlight;

It was your soul
that kindled mine.

I was really touched by this poetic work, even though I still haven't dug deep in poetry. Your work truly brought tears to my eyes; the romantic and sophisticated phrases pleased my soul. I wholeheartedly thank you for this work of art.
