Waiting for China to greet me by the hand

Post by Kgomotso Maje »

Did you know that I've read the sky blues at night
Hoping they would know when we would watch the next full moon together
Then we'd lie under the twitching abyss
Our heads clung to one another
We'd travel to China and trouble Master Shifu on the block below
We'd tiptoe around the frisky airs,
our heads winged and whipped for life

You'd sing me a lullaby
Your voice as soft as the wind on a sunny day
You'd dance a dance for me,
your feet as light as the snowy flakes against my pores

And when my breathing faints,
My tongue seared by the grind
You'd catch me where the stars kiss the sun
And you'd rock me under your sturdy hands
Yet I'd find solace from your one finger rubbing my nose

What do i do when my feet never trace your footsteps,
My hands trawling the ground below
Waiting for China to greet me by the hand
So tell me then, will the stars ever tell me
For the moon is baked and ready
