I don't want to be addicted to life
But some moments are just so sweet

What if we let the kiss linger
And I clasp my fingers when we hug

What if we don't let go
And chase the gold sand with our eyes
As the tides wash it away
And carry the grains to the horizon
Where the sun sets
And the light disappears

What if we let the ice melt
And take one more sip
What if we wait to grow up
And wait to grow old

What if we hold what we have
A moment too long
And grasp what we don't
A little too tight

And into this life
Fall a little too far?

A deeply emotive poem, Scott. I love the beauty and simplicity! :tiphat:

And when you really examine the concept of eternity
One will find that there is no end
Life after death is a concept humans still don't understand

How long is eternity? I don't understand
Some say forever, but if it's forever then when does it come to end?
It's more than a concept and infinite time that we spend
It confirms that our lives here on Earth
Are a blip of existence and don't make a dent
As we get older, it creeps in our mind

According to the story above, some people rush to do things which are not yet time to do it. Yet it would better on your required pace and on the right time to avoid the unwanted consequences.

'What if we hold what we have a moment too long and grasp what we don't a little too tight.' Prolific, closer to life, encourages us to read between the lines! The poem indicates towards a possibility, a flowering within a human being!

Usually, I'm not too fond of poems, but I have enjoyed every one of yours so far.
