Analytical Anecdote

Analytical Anecdote

I knew he loved me
Even in moments when others would have doubted it
Had they known…

I’ve considered that perhaps
There were times I didn’t deserve him
Maybe I didn’t understand
All he was experiencing –
Not in the way others could.

And it is possible –
He didn’t feel I loved him enough
When the world felt so heavy on his shoulders

I can’t really know for sure
Because he keeps it inside
And it sits there
Like a locked box –
Containing the pieces of my broken heart
Taunting me…

An anecdote to freedom from my own Rolodex of thoughts…

I enjoyed this. I think the pacing works well and I like how you divided the stanzas.
